day 4 - 20.12.2009; 11 degC

bought breakfast from this 早餐店 (JSP Burger) which was only a few shops away from the hotel. the egg roll was so-so, and the burgers were not bad except the sweet buns which doesn't goes well with salty patty.

and pam told me 2 guys commented that we were crazy to wear shorts in winter. but the problem is that we only planned to buy breakfast back thus there's no point in dressing up.




walked over to 西門町first before heading down to Taipei 101. 101 was rather boring as they have all the high-end boutiques there (just like our Paragon or KLCC). shopped around PageOne for books then went for lunch at the Mac downstairs.

walked over to the opposite New York New York after lunch then it's back to taipei main station as we wanted to get some stuff from 光南大批發 (again!) & 星光三越.

next stop to 師大夜市 at 台電大樓 (Taipower Building). i find the place better than shilin as it's more spacious and cleaner in a way. tried 鹽酥雞, long bean & cuttlefish with garlic. the 鹽酥雞 & long bean were nice, but the cuttlefish was quite a disappointment. also tried 滷味 but it was rather bland.




went back to 西門町 after that to look for outerspace clothing which pam needs to help her friend to buy. but we had a difficult time looking for it, and when we finally found it, she forgot the design her friend wanted. thus we decide to buy it the next day instead.



day 5 - 21.12.2009; 11degC

with no planned itinerary for the day, we decided just to roam around 西門町 to purchase whatever stuff we need to get. had our breakfast at the famous 阿忠面線 (damn nice can!~) first before we started roaming around.


bought local goodies (always a need to show you know how to "zhuo ren"), masks, etc. and we really bought too much stuff that we decided to head back to the hotel to place our shopping loots again (since it's nearby) after visiting outerspace. and we ended up buying 50嵐, 香香雞, 老天祿滷味 (duper nice!) on the way back again.




rested for quite some time as we've no idea where to go. so i suggested hello kitty sweets restaurant at 忠孝復興. the desserts were rather expensive but it's worth a try....


after that it's to the opposite sogo. pam saw a porter wallet but there's no more new piece (she's always so suay!), thus she asked for directions to another porter boutique which was at 東區. and it was easy to find! thanks to the sales girl for the detailed direction.

the sales girls were kinda amazed as we walked in, asked for new pieces and paid up immediately. thus, she asked if we saw it elsewhere. hurhur... ended up i cant resist and bought a pouch from there as well.

next to 雙連 to search for the 醬爆臭豆腐 which we saw on the TVBS show. but, we couldn't find it =(

and it's back to 西門町 to buy our dinner back to hotel. had 地瓜球, 脆皮臭豆腐, 咕咕雞, KFC's 蛋塔 & Pizza 雞塊 and 蔥抓餅.




headed out to carrefour after our dinner to buy the noodles, tidbits, drinks, etc to bring back to Singapore.

day 6 - 22.12.2009; 18degC - 25 degC

checked out earlier as we didn't want to rush back to hotel just to check out. only roamed around
西門町 as we totally have no idea where we should go to. settled our lunch at MOS burger in which i had their new pork curry burger and pam had the bland shrimp burger.


back to hotel at around 2pm with the intention to rot till 3.30pm (hotel's airport transfer). ended up we went back to carrefour to search for luggage strap as pam's afraid her luggage will burst open as there was some problem with the lock. bought our final cup of bubble tea then it's the transfer to the airport....

we left my onitsuka shoes (2 pairs) at the hotel lobby and luckily pam remembered just before the driver enters the highway! we were lucky to have a nice driver as he didn't make any noise for the detour. then finally reached the airport around 4pm....


went to do the tax refund then had a quick snack at the BK there (expensive loh!) before we enter the departure gate and it's an official good-bye to taiwan....


and i didn't use the inflight entertainment at all this time as i was pretty engrossed in my storybook. hurhur...

back to reality at 10.30pm when we landed in singapore =(
